What Real Weight Loss Motivation Is And Does

You want to lose weight, but you find it hard to stay motivated. That’s where weight-loss motivation comes in. Real weight loss motivation gives you that much needed “want-to power” that will keep you on track.

The Word-Web Dictionary defines “Motivation” as: “The psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal.” Say what? That definition is a little too complicated for such a simple principle.

So let’s translate it into every-day English and apply it to weight-loss. “Weight Loss Motivation: A thought given to you by someone else that encourages and inspires you to continue to lose weight.”

That’s what you want and need, and that’s what this article is all about. The motivation you need to stick with your personal weight loss program until you reach the “slimmer you” you want to be (and to keep that weight off).

Why Do Some People Need More Motivation Than Others?

Not everybody needs the same amount of motivation.

Some people just don’t need to be motivated. They are an unusual breed who are just blessed with that certain something inside that keeps them self-motivated.

However, if you’re like most people, you need some outside help to keep motivated. For you, weight loss is a continuing and difficult challenge. And it is so easy to get derailed from your weight-loss track. Here are a few reasons why it is so difficult to stay on track:

  • Food taste s-o-o-o-o good. It’s very hard to resist.

  • Food smells s-o-o-o-o good. It’s very hard to resist.

  • Food looks s-o-o-o-o good. It’s very hard to resist.

  • You have a better-than-average appetite. You want to eat more than you should.

  • You have a slow metabolism, and thus, it’s easy for you to gain and keep weight.

  • You don’t like to exercise, which burns calories and helps weight loss.

  • You’ve been trying to lose weight for so long that you’re tired of trying.

The reasons above can really work against you. But don’t be discouraged! With the right attitude, outlook, and motivation, you can reach a healthy and attractive weight. It isn’t easy, but it’s well worth the effort.

How to get Weight Loss Motivation When You Need It

Sometimes you need to be motivated and encouraged more than at other times. The trick is to get the right motivation just when you need it most.

Here are some suggestions that can help during those trying times:

  • Sign up for my Free Weight Loss Tips Newsletter. Each issue contains some great weight loss tips and at least one weight loss motivation tip.

  • Be a weight loss motivation tip collector. Every time you see something that encourages you, print it out on a card or paper and hang it where you are most likely to see it when you need it most.

  • Memorize those statements that really motivate you. When you are tempted to fall back, quote the statement to yourself and keep moving forward.

  • Write your dream weight (your objective) on two cards. Place one on your refrigerator and one on your mirror. Every time you see it, picture how you will look and feel when you reach that weight.

Don’t underestimate the power of the above suggestions. Once you get into the habit of thinking right, you will see some real change.

Some Instant Motivation Tips And How To Get “Want-To-Power”

Below you will find some excellent reasons to lose weight. They are highly motivational and should boost your want-to factor.

This is only a portion of my motivational tips. I don’t give everything at once for good reason. In order to keep motivated, you need encouragement on a regular basis stretched out over a long period (for some people, a lifetime).

That is why I created my Weight Loss Tips Newsletter. Each issue always includes some weight loss tips and one weight loss motivation.

I send the newsletter out once every other week automatically. This way you get a timely new motivation, or a reminder of an old one, on a regular basis. This will help you a lot more than a flood of encouragement-tips all at once.

Why not sign up now?

But for now, here are some motivational thoughts that should get you off to a good start and keep you going for years to come. These great reasons to lose weight should boost the “want-to” factor in your weight loss process.

You should stick with your weight loss program because:

  • You will look younger

  • You will feel younger

  • You will look good in your clothes (and out of them)

  • It will be easier to find something wear

  • Your belly, sides, and back will not hang over your waistband

  • You will be able to shop in regular clothing stores

  • You will pay less for clothes and have more up-to-date choices

  • You will feel better

  • You will have more energy

  • You will be able to participate in more activities

  • You will be better able to keep up with your children

  • You won’t be embarrassed when you have to run

    • And more
