Weight loss exercise is to weight loss what a wax job is to the paint on your car. You don’t have to do it, but you will look a lot better and last a lot longer if you do. And, as you will see below, exercise will do a lot more for you than just help you burn fat off.

Coupled together with a good diet plan, exercise can:

  • Help you look younger, more vibrant, and fit

  • Burn calories, which otherwise would turn to fat

  • Help prevent high blood pressure

  • Help prevent heart disease

  • Help prevent stroke

  • Help control and improve diabetes

  • Help prevent osteoporosis (bone loss)

  • Help prevent back pain

  • Help you manage stress

  • Improve your attitude and mood

  • Help reduce depression and anxiety

  • HELP YOU LOOK AND FEEL BETTER AS YOU LOSE WEIGHT

That’s a pretty impressive list of the benefits. I exercise every day, except Sunday, and can testify to the benefits of exercise. My exercise program keeps me feeling and looking fit.

Add weight loss exercises to your weight loss program, and keep it up. It will be hard at first, but after you feel and see the benefits, you will never want to quit. I am personally committed to exercising until the day I leave this earth. It’s that important.

What Is The Right Amount Of Exercise?

Weight loss exercise is designed to give you a well shaped, firm, and healthy body that will burn fat. It is not the same as those ultra muscle-bound strength-training routines for show. Eventually that type of exercise will catch up to you and cause you harm.

Think health. Think in terms of the rest of your life. Proper weight loss exercise is something that you can do, with certain adjustments, as you grow older. If you do it right, you will look a lot younger than you are now and in your latter years of life.

All you need is 30 to 45 minutes a day, 3-6 days a week. That’s not a bad investment for a lifetime of better health, fitness, and looks.

Are you thinking, “I can’t afford that much time”? Please think again. In reality, you can’t afford not to spend the time. People who exercise properly:

  • Have more energy, thus getting more done in a shorter time (making up for the exercise time)

  • Think more clearly, thus wasting less time on mistakes and bad decisions

  • Sleep better and deeper, thus needing less sleep

  • Are not as prone to sitting around and watching TV for long periods

As you can see, you will gain your time back, plus a healthier and better-looking body.

What Is The Best Weight Loss Exercise Program?

What is the best exercise program? The one that helps you lose weight, get fit, and feel better the most. Everyone is different.

For you, the best exercise program for weight loss may or may not be swimming, using the treadmill, pumping iron, or jogging. Your personal best exercises will be:

  • The ones you like to do best (although this is not a must for losing weight)

  • The ones you can do without hurting yourself

  • The ones you are willing do for 30-45 (or more) minutes a day 3-6 days a week

  • The ones that will cause you to sweat at least a little

I am not telling you to only do exercises that you enjoy; it just makes easier to stick with it if you do. That would be the best for you.

You may not enjoy any exercise. In that case, if you want to look and feel your best, you will have to create a productive program and stick with it.

I personally don’t really enjoy my exercises, but I don’t mind them that much either. I enjoy the benefits so much that I don’t even think about how much I enjoy or don’t enjoy my routine.

In any event, try to create a program you like. If you like what you are doing, it will be easier to stick with. If you really don’t like the way you feel and look, you won’t care about how much you like your weight loss exercise program. The important thing is getting results.

The Best Place To Exercise

Fitness centers are more popular than ever. You, like many others, may find it more enjoyable and easier to stay on your exercise schedule if you are a member of a club.

I personally use a weight machine at home and walk around my neighborhood. If I had to drive someplace to exercise, I would never keep it up. That’s just the way I am. If you have space in your home, this may be the best thing for you also.

I exercise to keep fit, not to build big muscles. However, for men, muscle growth and fat loss are a natural outcome of a good weight loss exercise routine. Don’t worry women. Women are not naturally designed to gain large muscles and will just lose unsightly fat and gain a well-toned and shaped body. A proper weight resistant program burns fat and builds larger and stronger muscles. It also keeps joints, tendons and ligaments flexible, which allows you to move more like a younger person. You will look and feel better and as you age. Also, remember that muscle burns fat.

A well-designed weight resistant program will burn fat and help get your shape back. A good weight loss exercise program will also benefit your health, weight, general appearance, and well-being. It also keeps joints, tendons and ligaments flexible, which allows you to move more like a younger person. Keep it up and you will not only look younger now, but also in your senior years. Oh, you also should remember that muscle burns fat, which is exactly what you want.

Burning Fat On The Fly

Here are some ideas that will have you burning calories (and thus cut down the fat) throughout the day:

  • When you have a choice between an elevator and stairs, take the stairs.

  • When taking an escalator, walk up it if no one is in front of you.

  • When it’s safe, park your car far away from the store or office so you can walk farther.

  • Walk all you can. Walking is a best exercise.

  • If you golf, walk instead of using a cart.

  • If you have a dog, take it for a walk daily. It will be good for both of you.

  • Use part of your lunch break for a brisk walk.

  • If you sit at work a lot, get up occasionally and walk.

  • Avoid couch-potatoitis.

  • When you do house work, think about the calories you are burning that would have turned to fat.

  • Get outside and do some yard work.

  • Stretch every time you get a chance

  • If you live close to a store or shop, walk instead of drive.

  • If possible, ride your bike to work.

  • Wash your car instead of taking it to a carwash.

  • Play some music while your home and dance around.

Keep these tips in mind, and look at your over-all weight loss program as an adventure to better health and a better body. Have fun and enjoy your life. Life is too short to do otherwise.
